On 15 January 2010, Shenzhen Performance Excellence Management Promotion and the 2009 Mayor’s Quality Awards Ceremony were held at Shenzhen Citizens' Center. Shenzhen Expressways Company Limited and Southseas Oils & Fats Industrial (Chiwan) Ltd. were the two winners received the 6th Shenzhen Mayor’s Quality Award.

Shenzhen launched the Mayor’s Quality Award in 2004. It is very first quality award named after the mayor in the nation and it is also the blue ribbon of quality management in Shenzhen. Since the award set up in 2004, 12 companies, including Huawei, ZTE and China Merchants Bank etc., have been handed the award.
